The Youth Theatre Workshop 2017 of the Theatre Company of Saugus presents the junior version of the popular musical Honk! All the cast members are kids ages 8 to 14. They will not only sing, dance, and act, they will also design and build the set, make the costumes, and do everything else you need to put on a show.
Come see the results of their work. They present Honk! Jr., the musical version of the story of the Ugly Duckling.
Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, Honk! Jr. is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! Jr. treats audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.
Ugly looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother’s protective flapping. Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat. Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be.
Music by George Stiles. Book and Lyrics by Anthony Drewe. Honk! Jr. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are supplied by MTI. www.MTIShows.com. The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly controlled.
