The award-winning Theatre Company of Saugus is pleased to present The Mousetrap, the long-running mystery by Agatha Christie.
A huge blizzard has buried the countryside in snow, making the roads impassable just after everyone arrives at a newly opened guesthouse, Monkswell Manor. The inexperienced innkeepers have their hands full catering to a houseful of eccentric guests. We learn that the police believe there is a homicidal maniac in the vicinity. One of the guests is the next victim, and one of them is the killer. Who are they? We do not know. And we can’t call for help, because the phone lines have been cut. Will we catch the killer before he (or she) strikes again? Or are we all caught in a trap?
The Theatre Company of Saugus is proud to welcome Frank Annese as the director of its production of The Mousetrap. Mr. Annese is a veteran actor and director in film, television, and on stage internationally. He is renowned for his direction of A View From the Bridge, and other plays. In 1995 he directed a wildly popular production of The Mousetrap at the Wilbur Theater in Boston.
The Mousetrap cast includes eight veteran players from the Theatre Company of Saugus. Derek Clark appears as the dogged Detective Sergeant Trotter. Mitch Cole is Giles Ralson, the hard working host of the guesthouse. Rosemary DeGregorio is the very demanding Mrs. Boyle. Bobby Imperato is the rather neurotic young Christopher Wren. Fred Nuzzo is the stalwart Major Metcalf. Lisa Scopa is the questionable Miss Casewell. Larry Segel is the unexpected foreigner Mr. Paravicini. And, Andrea Webber is the ingenuous hostess, Mollie Ralston. Stacey Wilson is the understudy for Mollie and Casewell.
