TCS participated in the 2012 EMACT (Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theaters) Festival, along with ten other community theaters from the area. We presented Anton Chekhov’s The Proposal. The festival was held at the Performing Arts Center at Chelmsford High School, June 28-30, 2012.
We are pleased that the production garnered a nomination, for Scenic Design, which was by Matt Huffman. Amanda Allen assisted with scenic painting. The adjudicators liked how we opened up a traditionally interior setting to the outdoors.
TCS first presented The Proposal at A Night of One Acts in February 2011. The same cast and production team were happy to have the opportunity to reprise this entertaining show. Nancy Welch again directed, joined by Jessica Stockton. Megan Joyce (stage manager for our last festival piece Props) served as stage manager. Larry Segel, Nicholas Meunier, and Amanda Allen performed, as Chubukov, Lomov, and Natalya.
Thank you to the crew at the festival and everyone involved with the show: Lisa Scopa, David & Susan Roberts, Sherri Raftery, Stephen Russo, etc.
Congratulations to TCS member Rosemary DeGregorio. She earned the Best Supporting Actress award, for her role as Hattie in the Theatre To Go presentation of The Women of Lockerbie.
Also congratulations to TCS member William Fafard, who had a featured role in the Harvard Community Theater presentation of Crossing Brooklyn. It is one of the two winning shows that will go on to the New England Regional Festival. Congratulations also to the other winnning show, Radium Girls, presented by the Burlington Players.
There was a local preview performance of The Proposal, prior to the Festival. At ESUMC on Friday 22 June 2012. The evening was filled out with a silent auction, refreshments, and additional entertainment by the Harborlight Showchoir. Admission was free, but donations were accepted.
