Parent Note

If you are new to the TCS Youth Theatre Workshop – parent participation is expected for some set construction work (transporting the Alice set to and from Stoneham High School to Saugus and participating in strike on the Sunday after performances along with your youth actors – which includes transporting the set back to Stoneham High School or with set move and strike for Spongebob which would include transporting pieces back and forth from the American Legion), collecting costumes and props during strike, and ushering for performances.

If we do not have enough Youth Participants for a designated session, then ALL workshop days and performances will take place at The American Legion Post 210 as in prior years. We will know this when registration closes (mid-June). If we end up having performances at The American Legion, then parent participation will also include moving, setting up, and striking the seating risers.

Thank you for wanting your child to be part of the TCS Youth Theatre Workshop! Without active parents, this program could not exist. We love having your kids be part of our programming and we’ve seen some of them go from elementary to high school and beyond during its existence. Many have made lifelong friends and our interns have come back to work on Mainstage productions and to be part of our Coaching Team for the summer program!

Intern Opportunities for Session I – Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, JR. with Grades 1 through 8.

Session I Interns will assist in main areas (music, acting, tech, choreography), in addition to helping the Workshop Coaches as needed throughout the process.

Please be able to attend the Audition and Callbacks (July 16 at 6PM).

If you are interested in being an Intern for Session I AND participate in Session II, please contact us about a discount related to Session II.

INTERNSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES

Students in at least Grade 9 as of Fall 2025 are able to apply for an Internship with either or both Session I and/or II this summer.

Students in school, college, community college, taking a year off, or recently graduated from college may apply.

Options are to be an Intern for:
* Session I
* Session II
* Sessions I & II
* Session I & Participant in Session II

Select your option in the Registration Form and you will be asked questions about your interests regarding the programs this summer.

In addition to completing the questions in the Registration Form – please send a Letter of Intent to TCS directed to the Instructor for YTW about your desire to be an Intern this summer with the Youth Theatre Workshop. Please email to tcsaugus@gmail.com after you have completed your registration. We will forward to the appropriate instructors.

You will also need to complete the Health Form and the T-Shirt Form, but not the Costume Form.

Intern Opportunities for Session II – The Spongebob Musical: Youth Edition with Grades 8 and Up.

Session II Interns will be involved more in the technical side of the production. If you are interested in learning more about lighting, sound, stage management, and backstage crew – this could be a great opportunity for you.

You may not need to be at all rehearsals, but it will depend on the role you take on as an intern. This will be discussed during the Meet & Greet and Callback process on June 23 and 24.

Location

As noted above, the TCS Youth Theatre Workshops will be taking place in two locations this year:
American Legion Post 210 at 44 Taylor Street in Saugus, MA
and
Saugus Middle High School at 1 Pearce Memorial Drive, Saugus, MA
ALL performance will be taking place on the stage at of the Lemoine-Mitchell Auditorium at the Saugus Middle School High School UNLESS there are not enough registered Youth Participants by close of registration.

Registration

If you are interested in having your child participate, but have any questions, PLEASE contact us directly via email and ask. We’d love your youth actor to be part of the program. You can reach us at TCSaugus@gmail.com.
