Audiences love Jack the Ripper!

After the show on October 26, Kris Reynolds spent a half hour telling us how good it was!

“The show was great!  Everyone should go!!” – Karen Collins

“Oh, I really really enjoyed it!  Costumes, set, lights, special FX all on point!  I was super impressed with Steve Russo!  He was so good!  Your Jack was great, and all the girls as a whole worked very well together.  It was honestly very very very well done!  I’d see it again if I could!” – Amanda Arruda

“Very impressive production of this musical.  Great sets, music, costumes, four musicians, great cast including Jack the Ripper played by Dustin Teuber, who gives a chilling performance.  Not to be missed!  Small theatre where every seat is close up.  They even have snacks and a bar!  Support local theatre at a fraction of the cost!” – Tom Anderson

Jack the Ripper

Theatre Company of Saugus is excited to announce our Fall 2017 show:  Jack the Ripper, The Whitechapel Musical.  Featuring grand musical numbers and desperate ballads, in addition to grisly murders, the show is perfect for the Halloween season!

This sung-through show has music and lyrics by Steven Bergman, with book and lyrics by Christopher-Michael DiGrazia.  Both artists are local to the Boston area.  The show has received high acclaim in past performances, and TCS is privileged to join the companies that have presented this excellent show.

We are also excited to announce that the co-musical directors for this production will be the composer, Steven Bergman, along with Anthony Sacco, who was the brilliant musical director for three TCS shows over the past year, Urinetown, Heathers, and the Mis-Cast Cabaret.

We have designated Kathleen Tringale as the Stage Director, and Nick Raponi as the technical director.

The proposed performances dates for Jack the Ripper have been changed somewhat from our first announcement.  We will still do eight performances, but over two weekends, not three.  Performances will be:  October 19-20-21-22, 26-27-28-29, 2017.  Auditions will be July 30 and August 1, 2017.  Check for more info on our Auditions page.  The location of auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be the American Legion in Saugus.

There are roles for about 5 women (prostitutes and victims) of various ages, plus the title role, police inspector, a doctor, and the townspeople of Whitechapel, who frequently comment on the action.  Also, the tale is guided by three “Gentleman of the Press” who act as active narrators throughout this murderous legend.
