Fundraising for New Dimmers

The Theatre Company of Saugus (TCS) is a local non-profit community theatre in its 49th season of entertaining theater goers in and around the North Shore.  We produce four to five shows a year ranging from covering the spectrum from comedy to tragedy in classic and more modern portrayals.  We do our best to keep our ticket prices affordable and theatre welcoming to families with the help of local sponsors, advertisers & friends, such as yourself.

People come from all around Boston and the North Shore to both audition for as well as attend our productions. Our membership is diverse, with actors, stage crew, and production staff of all ages; some of whom have been with the company since its conception and others who haven’t entered preschool yet. We welcome all to join our theatre family.

We have an urgent need right now.  For the past several years we have been renting the lighting dimmers that we use for each show.  This was a necessity due to the uncertainty of where we would be housed.  Unfortunately, it is not cost-effective in the long run.  The time has come to purchase our own dimmers, and have them available to us whenever needed.   These dimmers work with the modern lighting control board that we purchased a few years ago.

Each dimmer has six control channels, which is adequate for some plays with just a few scenes. We can use one dimmer for a play such as Lost in Yonkers.  But for a more complex show, such as Nunsense 2 (which is coming up later this season) we will need all twelve channels provided by two dimmers.  We have purchased one dimmer for Lost in Yonkers.  Each dimmer costs around $962.  In addition to that figure, there is also the cost for the necessary connecting cables.  Our current goal is to raise $2000 to cover some of the cost for two lighting dimmers and the connecting cables.

Won’t you help us achieve our goal, to be able to continue to provide quality and enriching entertainment for the community, by sponsoring the purchase of our needed new lighting equipment?  We are a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and your donations are tax-deductible.  All donators are credited in the playbill programs for our show.  Sponsor benefits include ads in the programs, tickets to shows, and inclusion in our publicity.

We are using a crowdfunding service to make donations easy.  To donate please click here.  Thank you for your support!
