Gertrude Deuter, a nosy neighbor played by Julie Pottier-Brown of Salem (right), gives a sleeping potion to her young friend Louise Maske, played by Amanda Collins of Beverly (left). They are scheming to control one of Louise’s admirers, in a scene from The Underpants, the comic farce by Steve Martin, the celebrated performer and writer, based on an original play from 1910 by Carl Sternheim. Performances by the Theatre Company of Saugus are on February 27, 28 and March 1, 6, 7, 8, 2015, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM.
