Headshot Photo Gala

Now that you are auditioning for real in-person shows, and you look different after a year in hiding, you are going to need new headshot photos. We have an excellent money-saving deal for you, and an excellent photographer.

Sabrina Ornae has been photographically documenting the Theatre Company of Saugus shows for the last several years. See recent photos of our production of Much Ado About Nothing.

At our Headshot Photo Gala sessions in August, you will have a 20-minute session with Sabrina Ornae Photography. The resulting photographs will be provided to you in digital format, suitable for posting online, or printing in color or black and white.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. You can bring one clothing outfit to wear. To make the best use of your time, be dressed in advance, and have already done your makeup.

If you come early to your appointment, you can get help freshening up your hair by our resident hair stylist Maggie (Stokes) Evans, who will be on hand for just a $10 fee so that you’re picture perfect.

There will be two sessions:

  1. Thursday 5 August 2021 starting at 7:00 PM
  2. Saturday 7 August 2021 starting at 10:00 AM

The location is the TCS home at the American Legion Post 220 / 44 Taylor Street / Saugus, Massachusetts.

You have the option of being photographed either inside or outside, which you choose when you sign up.

The fee is $125 for non-members of TCS, or only $100 for those with paid TCS memberships for 2021. A portion of the fee goes to support TCS.

See our Tickets page for the link to pay with a credit card and register in advance. You can also pay at the door with cash, check, PayPal, or Venmo.

You must also click here to sign up for a time slot for your personal photo session.

Evenings of Virtual Play Readings with the Authors

The performances will (hopefully) be in-person and outdoors.  The performance dates are planned for June 4 thru 20, 2021.

Rehearsals will begin the week of April 12, 2021.  At first rehearsals will be on Zoom, and later will be in-person.

The deadline to submit your audition video is 7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2021. This deadline has been extended.

If you cannot make and send in a video, you can attend an audition session via Zoom on Tuesday 6 April starting at 7:00 PM. For information on how to sign up for an audition slot, and for the Zoom link, visit our Auditions page.

Suggestions for a Halloween Season Play

We are now planning productions for our next season in 2021-2022. Our first show, in October 2021, will be Halloween themed, as we have been doing for the past several years. This year, however, we want to do a play rather than a musical. (Because singing in front of an audience might still be restricted.)

So we are now open to your suggestions of plays appropriate for the Halloween season. Either comedy or drama, as long as it has elements that are spooky, macabre, or mysterious!

Please send your suggestions to our season production committee at: TCSaugus@gmail.com

Accepting Raffle Donation Items

TCS is planning our next Raffle Fundraiser. Our last raffle event, the 12 Days of TCS raffle, was quite successful, so we will do another one later this spring called Back to the Stage. There will be multiple drawings and many prizes.

You can contribute to the fun by donating items to be raffled off. These can be gift baskets, gift cards, tickets to events, crafts, artwork, household items, whatever! Each donator will be credited in our raffle publicity.

You can tell us about an item you would like to donate by filling out this form. In the Longer Description tell us all about the item content, its use, the event dates, what makes the item desirable. Provide your contact information, in case we need to find out more. Provide your address so that we can collect the donated items and get them to their winners. Please fill out a separate form for each item you want to donate.

Thank you! Your donations are a big help in supporting the Theatre Company of Saugus.

Donating to Support TCS

The company has not been able to do its usual season of shows over the past year, so we have had very little income.  But we do have ongoing fixed expenses, and thus financial losses.  So please donate as much as you can.  With your support we can maintain ourselves, until we can resume entertaining you in person.

Your donations are deductible on your federal income tax, as we are a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. Thank you for your support!

There are three easy ways to send us monetary donations. Via PayPal, Venmo, or by Check.

With either PayPal or Venmo you can enter a Note with the payment. The note should include this information:

Your Name / Your Email Address / Reason and Amount. For example:
Jane Doe / JDoe3@abc.com / Donation $30

To make a donation via PayPal: Login to your PayPal account. Select the option to Send money. Enter the TCS email address as the recipient: TCSaugus@gmail.com. Add the Note.

To make a donation via Venmo: Login to your Venmo account. Send money and search under People for: @theatrecompanyof-saugus. Add the Note.

To make a donation by Check: Make your personal check payable to: Theatre Company of Saugus. Include the memo: Donation TCS 2021. Mail the check to: Theatre Company of Saugus / PO Box 1058 / Saugus, MA 01906

Submit Your Play Reading Ideas

Greetings fellow playwrights and play readers!

The play-reading committee of the Theater Company of Saugus would like to wish you well during these trying times and offer you a bit of escape. We had such an excellent time working on our recent virtual production of A Christmas Carol. Given the success of that project, we are currently beginning to search for plays for virtual reading sessions, or possibly a virtual springtime production. So, we need your help!

We are looking to you for new and interesting play submissions. Perhaps you are a playwright and would like to have your work read aloud by local artists. Or maybe you just love a particular play and would like the opportunity to take part in a reading or production of the piece. All people reading this are encouraged to submit plays! Whether you’re a longtime TCS member or just someone who happened to stumble upon this post. Either way, we anticipate your responses and look forward to looking through your submissions and working with each of you.

Simply send us an email with your suggestions, questions, or comments. Use the subject line: Play Reading. Send to TCSaugus@gmail.com.

Thank you, and continue to stay healthy and safe,

From: Matthew Garlin and Sean Perry, Co – Chair of TCS Play-Reading Committee
