UPDATE – Due to the storm coming up the coast and the 90% chance of rain and winds in the area – Saugus Founders Day has been postponed until Saturday, September 14. Same times. Same location.

Every year the town of Saugus holds its annual street fair. Vendors, artists, games, food, and entertainment! The Theatre Company of Saugus will present performances from recent and upcoming shows at 10:00 AM – including this summer’s Elf, Jr. and next month’s Nevermore on Saturday, September 7, 2019. TCS will have a booth on Central Street in front of Town Hall, where you can enter a raffle and find out about our upcoming season.

Tickets now on sale for Nevermore

Tickets are now on sale for our Fall 2019 production – Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe.

Performance dates are:
Friday – Sunday, October 25-27
Thursday, October 31
Friday-Sunday, November 1-3

Prices range from $17.00 to $30.00 depending on category and performance date.

Please note the Halloween performance on October 31 will start at 9:00PM to allow people to have participated in Halloween activities earlier in the evening. Audience in costumes are encouraged for the evening!

Nevermore Rehearsals Have Begun

Our Nevermore cast has been selected and rehearsals have begun. We have a mix of returning players and some new faces to the TCS stage.

TCS is excited to announce the cast of Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe by Jonathan Christenson our Fall 2019 production.

The Players: Koda Mehalba, Arthur Comer, Christine Dickinson, Andy LeBlanc, Richie DeJesus, Andrew Quinney, Becky Jo Roland, Sabrina Ornae, Melissa Jean MacNeil, Caroline Fonseca, and Kathy Rapino (not pictured) and Benjamin Finn as Edgar Allan Poe.

Direction and Choreography by Jason Hair-Wynn. Music Direction by Shawn Gelzleichter. Stage Management by Molly Scrivens.

Rehearsals started this week and are off to a great start. Tickets will go on sale later this month and will be posted on FB and the TCS website when available.

Annual Car Wash 2019

TCS will hold its annual summer Car Wash on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. At the Saugus Senior Center, 466 Central Street (near Hurd Avenue) in Saugus.

Only $5 to wash your car, or $7 for SUVs, trucks or vans. Extra to clean inside windows.

If it’s a hot day – and you would like us to spray you with the hose, there is only a small charge.

You will be attended by the cast for our upcoming production of Elf, Jr. – so you will be receiving the magical treatment that only elves can provide!

Come help us out and have some good clean fun! If you are interested in assisting, email us at tcsaugus@gmail.com.

But even if you can’t come down and help wash, bring your car down so we can clean it up for you. Your car is dirty and needs washing.

Proceeds will benefit our summer Youth Theatre Workshop 2019.

Dine Out for Dollars – July 27, 2019

Join us at California Pizza Kitchen in Lynnfield, and whether you are dining in, ordering take out, or picking up catering – if you show the flyer below, 20% of your bill will be donated to Theatre Company of Saugus.

The fundraising event date is Saturday 27 July 2019, all day. This is the day the Youth Theatre Workshop is presenting Elf The Musical, JR. twice! Have a meal between the matinee performance at 2:00 PM and the evening show at 7:00 PM. The matinee is expected to be done at 3:45 PM, so you’ll have plenty of time to get up to Lynnfield and back, because it takes only 15 minutes from Saugus.

It’s Christmas in July!

Tickets for our Youth Theatre Workshop production of Elf The Musical JR. are now on sale for performances on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.

If you are not familiar with this newer holiday classic, Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list and that his half-brother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

A great show for children of all ages, it will be performed by our Youth Theatre Workshop attendees who range from 1st to 8th grade. Some are new to our summer program and others have participated for years. They are ready to sing and dance and spread some holiday cheer.

Come support our fantastic youth actors and enjoy a holiday celebration mid-year!
